Bring life into life!

Dangling on the edges of my life

I saw a girl full of life

She had lost her family, but

She had life.

She lost them in a battle

Saw them being killed

In front of her eyes.

Yet she had life.

She had no room for shelter

No bucks for bread,

No cloth to cover

Yet I saw her full of life

She roamed in the streets

With a broom, sweeping

Merrily, she did her job.

She had no one to be cared for by

No one to care for

Yet she had life.

In the evening she gets some bucks

She sits for a meal and thanks God

Thank God for everything.

I saw she had nothing but

She had a life, the best of life.

I had a big flat, tangy delights

Best of clothes, yet

I didn’t have it – the life

This is life – what I yearned for.

The life resides in the heart

Not the bucks in your belly.

Life is satisfaction – that’s all.

Moving past her I saw her

Smell fragrantly smelled of life.

I felt ashamed & cheered my way,

Pledged I’ll remain at bay.

Forget the miseries and thought

Of good. The goodness I got

In mother’s lap. I lamented

Losing precious moments of life.

I went back to the girl

Kept in her hands a hundred bucks

Her eyes widened as she looked

In disdain. I said keep it

She was happy & it brought

Another zeal of life into me.

I thanked that girl

For bringing life into me
